Dr. Umar Yahya is currently the head of Motion Analysis Research Laboratory and a Senior Lecturer of Computer Science in Faculty of Science of the Islamic University in Uganda (IUIU). He obtained his Bachelors degree from the Islamic University of Technology (IUT, Bangladesh) and both his Masters and PhD from Universiti Brunei Darussalam (UBD, Brunei). His research interests include IoT, Computational Biomechanics, Wearable Technologies, Intelligent Systems, and Computational Intelligence. Dr. Yahya has so-far successfully supervised more than sixty (60) final year undergraduate capstone projects and over 10 postgraduate dissertations, in the areas of Web-based Applications Development, Human Computer Interaction, Advanced Human Motion Analysis, Software Engineering, Intelligent Systems, E-Commerce, and Internet of Things (IoT). He has also over the years taught and examined several computing papers including Structured Programming (using C Language), Data Communication & Computer Networks, Object Oriented Programming (Using C++ and Java), Website Programming (using PHP, JSP, HTML5, and CSS), Database Programming (using MySQL), Software Engineering, Computer Applications, Advanced Website Programming, Research Methods, Concepts of Cloud Computing, Motion Capture Systems, and Science of Multimedia.
